Italian Classes for Kids - online and in person options available
IN PERSON CLASSES ARE HELD @ 49 RIDGEDALE AVENUE, EAST HANOVER, NJ

We believe in teaching Italian from an early age. Group classes, private instructions and tutoring are available for children all levels from 3 years old and up.
Many options to choose from for group classes: 2 hour classes for the Saturday school, 1.5 hour in person weekdays, 1-hour online only, and family or private lessons.

ISNJ offer classes for children 3 years old and up and all levels (beginners, intermediate and bilingual) as follow:
-Pre-k students: Cuccioli (3 to 5 years old, pre-K)
-Elementary School students: Coccinelle (kindergarten), Scoiattoli (1st and 2nd grade), Farfalle (3rd to 5th grade)
-Middle School students: Fringuelli (6th, to 8th grade), and
-High School students: Giraffe (19th to 12th grade)

ISNJ has three levels of instructions, beginner, intermediate and bilingual.
Beginners and intermediate classes are open to everyone.
Bilingual classes are for those children who understand perfectly Italian and have at least one native Italian speaker in the household and for those children who have transferred to America from Italy and are looking to continue their Italian language education.

Please note that at the Italian School NJ we divide the students based on their age, class grade, skill levels, and knowledge of Italian language. Placement in a different level and age group can be made by our staff based upon individual skill levels. For our youth classes attention is given to 4 skills: listening and comprehension, ability to speak, read and write Italian (when applicable). Italian School NJ has developed its own sequential curriculums following the requirements of the Common European Frameworks so that children will learn the language through the years through age appropriate activities.
Please note that we don’t offer online classes or lessons for pre-k students. In order to attend an online class or lesson children should have completed at least a semester of regular kindergarten.
We don’t believe that teaching Italian to children too young through online lesson is effective or beneficial to the children. We do welcome children 3 years old and up to our school for in person classes that are extremely engaging, fun and effective.

Online Forming classes can start anytime once we receive a minimum of 3 students signed up for the same class. Please note that all our classes need to have a minimum of 4 students (for in person) or 3 students (for online) to start.

LA SCUOLA DEL SABATO (SATURDAY PROGRAMS)

In person option only - Classes are held at: 49 Ridgedale Avenue, East Hanover, NJ.
The “Scuola del Sabato” runs from September through June. Classes will start on September 12 with the following schedule:
2026 Fall semester: September 12 to December 5, no class on November 28. 2026-2027 Winter semester: December 12 to March 20, no class on December 26, January 2 & February 13. 2027 Spring semester: April 10 to June 19, (10 classes $519), no classes on March 27 and May 29.
