Summer 2024: July 13 to July 24th
This summer we want to accompany you to discover a part of Italy known as Tuscia located in Umbria, Tuscany, and Lazio. The Land of the Etruscans, an ancient population preceding and coeval with the Romans. We are in upper Lazio, between Rome and Tuscany, between the Tyrrhenian Sea and Umbria. A historical, artistic and naturalistic context. We will visit ancient medieval villages perched on mountains, villas, palaces and gardens of the 16th century Italian. We will walk along the lake or in mysterious woods. We will taste excellent typical local products in suggestive environments, we can pamper ourselves in natural thermal springs and enjoy the sun and sea
Schedule includes visit to:
- Spoleto. While there we will attend the "Festival dei due mondi", that is an annual summer festival of music, theatre, dance, opera and visual arts.
-Norcia is famous for San Benedetto, cured meats and truffles.
-Castelluccio where we will see the impressive blossoms phenomenon that colors the landscapes.
-Assisi, famous throughout the world for being the city where Saint Francis (San Francesco d’Assisi) , patron saint of Italy, and Saint Clare (Santa Chiara) were born, lived and died.
-Perugia Perugia stands on a hill in the Tiber valley and is a famous city of art. A fortified medieval village, within a city wall. While in Perugia there will be The Umbria Jazz Festival, since 1973 is one of the most important jazz festivals in the world.
-The Marmore waterfall is the highest artificial waterfall in Europe whose rocks are similar to white marble
-Orvieto The undisputed symbol of Orvieto is its Cathedral, of rare beauty and rich in works of art.
-Pitigliano or the "little Jerusalem"
-Siena is a medieval city steeped in history, rich in art and culture, a cultured destination much loved by lovers of good food.
-Terme di Saturnia, natural spas, public.
-Argentario, a holiday resort known for its numerous beaches and coves; it is also rich in history
-Lake Bolsena, the largest volcanic lake in Europe, with a well-preserved historic center with numerous historic buildings, churches and squares.
-Civita di Bagnoregio. is nicknamed "the dying city". It is located on a tuff hill, sadly destined to collapse due to the erosion it constantly suffers from wind and rain.
-Villa Lante, famous for its gardens and its numerous monumental fountains.
-Bomarzo Garden, created by Prince Orsini who wanted to build a villa of wonders, that is, a garden full of stone sculptures depicting wonderful monsters, mythological creatures and heroes.
-Viterbo was a papal court, city of towers and fountains.  
-Fregene: Relaxation at the seaside or in the swimming pool or at the wellness center of the structure or for those who want a possible excursion to Rome.

 

‘24 Spring trip: Sicily (FULL)
March 22nd to 30th

 

SICILA: La costa orientale. We will take you to the largest region of Italy, where ancient history coexists with modern history, where the mountain meets the sea and where good food accompanies you even on the street...

Schedule:
-Day 1 and 2: Catania. Catania is a multicolored universe, from the sparkling whiteness of its baroque stuccos (a UNESCO world heritage site) to the lava black of Liotru, the elephant carved in basalt that welcomes us in Piazza Duomo, in the heart of the city.
-Day 3 and 4: Siracusa. SIRACUSA The city is known for its rich Greek and Roman history, culture, amphitheatres, architecture and as the birthplace and home of the pre-eminent mathematician and engineer Archimedes. In its "Old Town", ORTIGIA you can admire not only the oldest buildings but also the best views of the sea. From Siracusa we will visit: Noto, Modica and Ragusa
-Day 5, 6 and 7: Taormina. Nestled on the top of Monte Tauro, Taormina is a natural platform overlooking the sea. A marvelous location and unique natural beauty have earned this city the nickname of Pearl of the Ionian. From Taormina we will visit: Monte Etna. Etna offers the best views of the entire island. From Etna you will enjoy landscapes that vary from volcanic craters to barren lava fields, to samples of forests and vineyards.

During the trip you will be always accompanied by our teacher Bibiana and Marco from MangoTour that will make sure you will experience the real Italian life. Cooking experiences, themes dinners, guided tours… and as always laughs, fun, and Italian lessons will be part of your trip.

PAST TRIPS

‘23 Fall trip: Piemonte and Liguria
Trip highlight: truffle hunt!

9 days experience traveling Piemonte and Liguria - our students discovered these two great regions, hunted for truffles, learned to make “agnolotti”:
-1 day in Lake Maggiore to relax and bit the jet lag with lake view
-5 days in Turin they discovered the beauties of this gorgeous city (will visit the Reggia di Veneraria), enjoyed the chocolate festival, learned to make “agnolotti”. And a special surprise was the truffle hunt with a local guide. Our students found truffles and eat it the same evening in a home made meal!
-2 days in Liguria. They traveled in the beatiful Langhe region
-1 night in Milan.

During the trip the 5 Italian School NJ students were always accompanied by our teacher Bibiana and Marco from MangoTour that made sure they experienced the real Italian life.


‘23 summer trip - Rome-Puglia-Naples

 

Our students traveled to: Rome, Puglia and Naples with Bibiana Artesi from Italian School NJ in collaboration with MangoTour (click here to visit MangoTour).
12 days traveling through the south of Italy and learning Italian on the site:
-2 days in Rome, the “eternal city” .. strolling through its streets and admiring its ancient and modern beauties
-8 days in Puglia where we will travel through stunning towns and villages while staying in the home base of an “albergo diffuso” (il villaggio La Vecchia Mottola) admiring architectural beauties, sandy beaches and natural marvels. We will travel to: Ostumi, Alberobello, Matera, Castellana (grotte), Polignano, Porto Cesareo, Terre Dell’Orso, Otranto, Lecce (Salento)
-2 days in Naples

During this trip 12 days students were always accompanied by our teacher Bibiana making the students live the real Italian life.
